1. Introduction

This document provides the complete strategic framework for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) at Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd.

This policy applies to all workplace activities undertaken by Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd.

 

2. Strategic Goals & Objectives

Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd has developed strategic goals relating to WHS, which include the following:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership in setting and achieving WHS goals.

  • Incorporate risk management principles into all operations.

  • Consult with staff on decisions that may impact their health and safety.

  • Encourage a culture of cooperation, initiative and responsibility across all Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd sites to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

  • Identify and control all health and safety hazards and associated risks.

  • Continually review and audit WHS systems to improve Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd Workplace Health and Safety Management Policies and eliminate accidents, injuries and illness in the workplace.

 

3. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to achieve the WHS strategic direction and objectives outlined above.

 

4. Scope

This policy applies to all directors, management, employees and hired staff working in Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd offices and construction sites.

The WHS Management Policy formalises Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd’s commitment to workplace health and safety. This commitment includes:

  • Communication and consultation.

  • Identification of safety issues.

  • Risk assessment and risk management.

  • Implementation of WHS systems.

  • Ongoing improvement through auditing, review and monitoring of WHS effectiveness.

Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd shall implement a WHS plan that meets the requirements of this policy, company rules, and relevant safety standards.

 

5. Commitment to WHS

Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd is committed to:

5.1

Promoting a strong safety culture for all employees and demonstrating commitment to this policy.

5.2

Implementing effective control systems and complying with all relevant WHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.

 

6. Identification of Safety Issues (Including Risk Management)

Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd must demonstrate that:

6.1

Workplace hazards and risks have been identified and appropriate procedures implemented to minimise accidents and injuries.

6.2

Effective communication is maintained with employees to raise awareness of workplace hazards and risks.

6.3

All foreseeable emergency situations have been identified and procedures implemented to maximise response time and minimise injury.

 

7. Implementation of WHS (Including Education & Training)

Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd must demonstrate that:

7.1

Managers and WHS personnel have undertaken appropriate training to ensure effective implementation of this policy, supported by ongoing practical education.

7.2

All employees receive training and support to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, workplace safety procedures.

7.3

Ongoing training and education are provided to employees to raise awareness of workplace hazards and safety responsibilities.

7.4

Training is delivered by persons with appropriate knowledge, skills and experience in WHS and training delivery.

 

8. Monitoring & Assessment of WHS

Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd must demonstrate that:

8.1

Appropriate procedures are in place for regular reporting to monitor the performance and effectiveness of WHS systems.

8.2

Monitoring procedures comply with WHS legislation, regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.

8.3

Records are maintained for WHS performance, breaches, complaints, incidents, accidents, injuries, hazard identification, risk assessments, and preventative and corrective actions.

8.4

WHS information is established, implemented and maintained in a format that is readily accessible and retrievable.

 

9. Auditing and Review

The Adelaide Partitions & Ceilings Pty Ltd Management Review Group shall:

9.1

Oversee the WHS audit process.

9.2

Ensure annual WHS audits are conducted to confirm the system is properly implemented and maintained, and that performance objectives are being met (refer to Management Procedure 102-3).

9.3

Review and present audit reports as required.
